All Tuckered Out

Where does that phrase come from, anyway?

Once again, I'm all tired and not certain I can do justice to anything funny this evening. This is a bad side-effect of usually writing these things at midnight or later when everyone else has finally gone to bed. Normally I can function, but in the last few weeks I've been running down. Too little sleep with the baby, grading for summer school, trips, and all the rest. I'm hoping to find a way to write more entries earlier in the day.

I got to hang out with Chris Skaggs this evening, who's down from Oregon for a visit. Every time he's about, I recall (1) how strange and funny a man he is, and (2) how much I want to live in the Pacific Northwest. Man. His tales of living up there fill me with a fierce jealousy. The voicework is really the thing that keeps me here; if it weren't for that, I think I'd seriously be looking for land or housing up that direction.

I've had some interesting news on that front which I shan't share this evening--give me a few days and I'll see if I can work up to it. Nothing terribly big and exciting, just some updates on my progress and such. In the meantime, I picked up a book the other day about creative types and their careers which promises to be an interesting read--it's actually got a good deal of practical advice and tools for self-investigation that seemed pretty remarkable. I'll see if it is helpful and report to you all.

Okay--sleep now. Blog later. But I made the post! That's the important thing. I did not fail in my mission.

Slusser, out.
